You've found yourself looking at yet another one of my old-school Greensboro photo galleries. This gallery comes to you directly from The Hill, a.k.a. my townhouse on Hill Street. The Hill became famous in Greensboro because of the tight-knit group that resided in the Melrose-like neighborhood.
The story goes something like this. Dan lived on North Battleground Ave. I lived downtown. Our friend Robin moved into a new townhouse just outside of downtown. One evening Robin invited us all over to see her cool new pad. What we found was five brand-new townhomes, 4 occupied by young professionals and one still under construction. In the middle was a parking lot with a communal patio. Dan and I saw the chance to save money on rent and live around other young folks, so we moved into the last townhouse. We completed our move in just under 12-hours and decided to throw a neighborhood party (the first 10 photos). That set the tone for a year of living in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in all of G'boro. Friday nights became known for parties at "The Hill." Hockey games and movies were watched on the side of our townhouses with a digital projector. And any reason to dress up, act silly, cookout and drink adult beverages was certainly taken advantage of by this crew.
Dan and I moved out in April of 2003 and the last I heard so had everyone else. It was fun while it lasted and hopefully these photos will remind everyone of the good times had on The Hill.
