The Green Room at Jannus Landing

Where: 242 First Ave N., St. Petersburg: Jannuslanding.net or call (727) 550-0419
Hours: Typically open 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday. (It opens earlier to ticket holders on nights when an early concert is scheduled at Jannus Landing.)
Cover: There's a $5 cover on Wednesday and Thursday. The Green Room features national and regional acts on Friday and Saturday, so covers vary depending on the entertainment. Unless there's a special event, there's usually no cover on Monday and Tuesday.
What to wear: Attire depends on the type of bands playing at Jannus Landing. T-shirts and sandals are de rigueur for fans at most rock shows. Jazz acts tend to draw a dressier, martini-drinking crowd.
Signature drink: Washington Apples shot … Crown Royal, Ammeretto, Sour Apple Pucker schnapps and a dash of cranberry juice. It tastes like apples all the way down.
The scene: The Green Room serves as Jannus Landing's official bar, so the atmosphere is somewhat dependent on the types of acts playing there. The one constant is everyone has a love of music. The club is dark and comfy, reminiscent of "greenrooms'' found at many concert venues. Works by local artists decorate the walls.
Located at the back of the Jannus Landing courtyard, directly opposite the stage, the bar is frequented by band members who come in to unwind after a show. Only this time you're invited to join them and take part in the post-concert festivities.
The crowd: The crowd varies from night to night, but you're always likely to encounter a diverse mix of folks. One night you might see young professionals hanging out at the bar while headbangers thrash to Dokken outside. Come back a day later, and it might be beach bums enjoying the roots reggae of Burning Spear while Miami club types dance to house music inside.
The specials: Monday is two-for-one well brands and drafts along with free pool. Tuesday offers $1 drafts and $1 mixed drinks for the ladies. There's amateuramature boxing on Wednesday and Jell-O wrestling on Thursday. Belly up to the bar for $3 imported beers and $1.50 drafts on Friday. All drinks are two-for-one on Saturday.
The scoop: Live music rules here. You can rock to your favorite band in the courtyard, then retreat to the lounge atmosphere of The Green Room. The bar is one of the few Bay area clubs that only books bands with original music.
A wall of fame shows an array of national artists who have indulged in frosty beverages here after performing at Jannus. A game room features two pool tables, air hockey, darts and several video games.
