The Rack in South Tampa
|
|

Hours: Open daily from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Cover: None
What to wear: Dress shoes or sandals, T-shirts or ties, anything goes at this upscale pool hall. Put forth a little effort like you're dressing for a date, and you'll fit in nicely.
Signature drink: The Tomarita (named after co-owner Tom Golden), which is a jacked-up version of the margarita. If a shot is what you're looking for, ask for Seth's Roncos Trash. But don't ask what's in it, Seth the bartender won't tell.
The scene: The Rack's sports bar/pool hall/sushi bar theme makes it unique. It's a trendy spot, but still a place where you'll feel at home.
The crowd: You'll find doctors and lawyers mingling after work, bikers and artists playing pool, and locals enjoying good conversation and a beer with friends.
The specials: Monday is $10 for all-you-can-drink call brands and drafts. Tuesday is two-for-one drafts, call brands and house wines. Ladies night is Wednesday, with two-for-one cocktails and appetizers plus $3 New Castle Brown Ales. Thursday is $6 martini night. There's a happy hour party on Friday - the more people you bring, the more you take off your bar tab. And finally, Saturday offers $10 buckets of domestic beer.
The scoop: The Rack opened in October 2002 as a gourmet pool hall and quickly added a sushi bar. It's a match that has been a success story ever since.By blending two seemingly divergent worlds, The Rack has taken the neighborhood bar to completelythe next level. It's a place where you can prep for a night of clubbing, play pool with friends, or relax on the front deck and eat sushi.
Locals like the comfortable atmosphere and jukebox, impeccable style found at this trendy establishment.
