This gallery features photography from my first visit to Los Angeles for Camp Hollywood. I flew out a day early so I could take some extra time to explore the city. The first thing I did was pick up a friend in Long Beach and explored the urban neighborhood of Melrose. We spent some time at Venice Beach, checked out the La Brea Tar Pits and just enjoyed the fabulous weather of southern Cal.
The highlight of the weekend was checking out the historic Dresden. Anyone who has seen the movie Swingers will know the place and will also be aware of the horrible lounge singers that perform daily at this joint. I sat at the bar and literally felt like I was in the middle of the movie. After some time at the Dresden I wandered downtown to the Standard Hotel for a rooftop party. The bouncer quickly told me "no cameras!!!" I had a drink and then walked the city to find the best spot possible for a skyline shot which you'll see in this collection. The last photo of the gallery is more of a joke since it doesn't really show off any photography skills. It's my first attempt at a paparazzi shot of Ryan Seacrest driving his fancy Benley convertable down Wilshire Blvd. Enjoy...
