Whether it was his critically acclaimed debut on the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, or his rise to number 23 in the definitive DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, Gareth Emery has increasingly established himself as one of the most innovative, unique, and exciting figures in modern dance music. On Saturday, June 13th, DC clubbers were treated to over 5 hours of trance from Emery along with Dutch producer Piet Bervoets of Rank 1 and DC's Dan Sampson.

On Thursday, May 21st, I set out for New York City and the Frankie 95 Memorial Celebration. It was a memorial paying tribute to Frankie Manning, the man we all look up to as one of the original Savoy Ballroom dancers and a true ambassador of Lindy Hop. This collection of photos comes from some of our down time between dances and performances while hanging out in the ultra hip Meatpacking District.

Legendary DJ and Grammy Award winning producer Frankie Knuckles was back in NYC, ready to drop a set on the world-renowned Club Cielo in the meatpacking district. If you've danced to anything with a four-to-the-floor beat anytime over the last 25 years or so, you've done so because DJ Frankie Knuckles made it possible. And lucky for me, I was in town and had an opportunity to join the Godfather of House Music in the DJ booth.
